Presented by Meghan Christianson,
Founder of War Knot Wool

Welcome!

My name is Meghan Christianson, and I’ll be guiding you through this course. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Colorado State University, and I am currently pursuing my MBA with a focus on Product Management. My background combines both the creative and strategic sides of business—understanding not just how to market products, but how to build them into something meaningful, sustainable, and valuable.

This course was created specifically for makers, people who create with their hands and want to turn that skill into a real business. Whether you are working with wool, leather, wood, clay, or any other material, you’ve likely experienced the same challenge: you know your product is valuable, but translating that value into consistent sales can feel overwhelming.

Throughout this course, we will use pulled wool saddle pads as a primary example, inspired by the work done at War Knot Wool. These products clearly demonstrate what it means to create something by hand—something that requires time, skill, and intention. At the same time, the lessons you’ll learn here apply broadly to any handmade business.

This is not a course about quick wins or shortcuts. It is about building a strong foundation—understanding your value, identifying the right customer, and creating a marketing system that reflects the quality of your work. You will learn how to move beyond simply making products and begin thinking like a business owner. By the end of this course, you should not only have a clearer understanding of marketing, but also a clearer vision for your own business—one that aligns with your craftsmanship, your values, and your long-term goals.

This course is FREE for all War Knot Wool students who have purchased a starter kit or access to our student portal.
