Choosing between our Merino or Corriedale starter kit? Learn more about each fiber: 

Merino Wool — Approx. 23 Micron Merino is a finer, softer wool with a smooth feel. Its finer fibers create a soft, dense finished pad and make it a great choice for those who prefer the traditional Merino used in many of our kits.

Corriedale Wool — Approx. 25–30 Micron Corriedale is slightly coarser than Merino, giving it a little more body and structure while still remaining soft and workable. The slightly larger fiber diameter can provide a more substantial feel and excellent loft, making Corriedale a great option for pulled wool saddle pads.

Neither is considered "better" than the other—they simply offer different fiber characteristics. Corriedale provides more structure and body, while Merino offers a finer, softer feel. Both can be used to create a comfortable, functional, and beautiful pulled wool saddle pad.
